Robotics + Art Art is two things to me, creativity and innovation. Art can be such beautiful pieces of work because it allows the human mind to freely create whatever comes to it's imagination. This is the one reason why art has always stuck out as something that impacts the world on such a powerful level. Art gives people the ability to create whatever image they choose to. Although now artists are pushing to boundaries as to what is still considered art due to technology. Art though also connects with technology and allows people to create things that have never been created before. EVENT THREE : Hammer Museum  Just the other day my teammates and I visited the Hammer Museum in Westwood. I was not sure what to expect from this museum, but I learned a lot of interesting things. I have never been someone who likes art or exhibits that show off art, but for this I decided to step out of my comfort zone. The exhibit at the Hammer that I found the most interesting was the collaborative works of art by Oliver Payne and Keiichi Tanaami. Their art is consisted of a world that is built around Japansese idols, monsters, and popular Japanese arcade games. Payne focused more on the video game culture while Tanaami focused more on the idea of an international pop movement. These pictures are beautifully drawn skulls in black and white that often feature some type of video game signal. Week Four In this weeks lectures Vesna showed us that art, technology, and medicine have always cooperated together. Although we don't always see these three go together, they really do. We first see how different advancements in the technology field have stemmed from art, like MRI's and X-rays. These inventions have helped save millions of lives over the years. The MRI is an example of how all three of these link together. When you get an MRI usually your whole body goes underneath a machine that scans your body, and then displays a picture of every bone and ligament that you have. The picture that we get from the MRI displays the art portion, the machine is the technology portion, and the ability to figure out what is wrong with your body from the picture is the medicine portion.
